Exactly 15 feet from my windows is the SoHo Hotel, home to many a celeb sightings and mishaps. If I had a 24 hour webcam on the entrance I could probably charge for advertising on the site :) What gets annoying is when traffic is blocked. The tunnel is a few blocks down and drivers here are relentless when their hand reaches the horn - it's all over for the people's peace. One time Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony where leaving at least 3 or 4 security vans (hope it wasn't for her luggage) blocked traffic for an hour. And when Russell Crowe allegedly bashed the head of the concierge- cops were all over the place. Can't blame them for staying there however, all the good shops are here. Luckily tourists just stay on Canal St. or else this would be the SoHo Zoo on West Broadway.
It's cloudy here.. bring an umbrella.
Have a nice day everyone!
This fall season is gearing towards madness here. Everyone is feeling it.
So in an attempt to enjoy the last few days of Summer, we will all be "out of office" for the rest of the week. If you email or call (this also includes online purchases) you won't receive a reply until Sept. 4 or 5- but will have some great deals on artwork to show off to you when I return.
I'll be in L.A. for the next week or so working on a couple of projects with a team of people for a sitcom set. So if you're in the area and would like to visit my studio in Santa Monica drop us a line.
I have a new look to my website. We'll be adding current original artwork soon: http://www.elsophia.com/main/
Some exciting new changes are coming up but I'll have to update later.
Have a great week!
Hope everyone is enjoying the Summer. We had an awful heat wave but it's finally over now and everyone can get on with their business.

Lemya el Sophia ~ First Responder
Well on my way to becoming a rescue diver. I'm already a PADI certified open water diver. And now I'm certified by the American Red Cross in First Response- CPR, first aid, etc. No, I'm not taking a job with homeland security as the instructor implied. Just a goal I wanted to attain. And when I set a goal...
Video of my Studio & showroom:

Ian has given me some footage he took of my studios & locations from the documentary he was working on. Has my studio at Helmsley-Spears (where no one is allowed) and the new showroom in Tribeca. Almost took over studio location of Arielle, genius owner of Lupu NY, while she downsizes but too out of the way for me. Also some location shots, you can catch glimpses of the dozens of production companies filming trucks, and a gallery opening in SoHo. I threw it together myself and plan to continue filming and updating here. possibly getting better at it as well. Enjoy!
