spent the past week in rehearsals, even though my part is 5 minutes short.

i was born a decade after the narcotics fest of the factory but last night i had the most disturbing dream. andy warhol had me tied up to a chair in his studio and was forcing speed on me. and rather then sink into the debaucheries of his films i actually left the place. wonder if that would have happened in real life?

happening in the city:

we had snow.

on hillary for president- well, i must admit not a big fan of hers. however after i heard her announcement, i'm a little intrigued by having a woman for president. not to mention she'd do a better job than ol' george.

i hate trump. for many reasons including the fact that he wants to build a GLASS(!!!) HIGH-RISE(!!!) in SoHo(???). Can't he keep his tackiness uptown? I understand he's never been to lower manhattan (except when he's being sued of course) but how about some research first?

there's really not much else going on, just the normal daily cycle of wake up, do some work, meet friends for dinner, meet more friends for post dinner drinks, meet other friends for post drinks partying, drag self home. i'm on stage 4 right now.

my neighbors are very loud this evening. music is coming at me from all directions. that's why i don't stay home. nothing's worse then 3 a.m. coke deliveries gone wrong. maybe people shouldn't cram themselves into tiny living spaces. who knows.

will have some new work up this week.

and may i just point out that at the end of his speech he didn't even say, "God bless america." everyone sitting in the room with me said it in the same breathe. this is either a show of how much he hates this country or he has gone totally mad.

  • and from HuffingtonPost.Com All Roads to Iran  "With the American military drastically over-extended in Iraq and Afghanistan, there are no viable ground options for Iran. The current operational plans for striking nuclear facilities in Iran will almost certainly be naval and Air Force operations. With Admiral Fallon being an aviator, it is an operation he is well suited to plan, prepare, and execute. His nomination is nothing less than a signal to the American public that the Bush Administration is preparing to launch strikes at Iran. If the United States strikes Iran, the Iranians will continue this fight, but maybe not the way the public is expecting."

we're updating the art gallery system so artwork will be unavailable for viewing.

we had a record breaking 72 degrees on saturday. and a gas scare yesterday morning. boring doesn't happen here. and i'm being practical- not cynical- by saying this world is falling apart in every conceivable manner. normally i would have protested the warm weather by staying indoors but was invited to a friend's bbq on the roof of her building so didn't want to disappoint. shame on me.

meeting people for lunch uptown by the park. it's a lovely day here.

went out to see david lynch's inland empire last night.

pure genius. a creative mind extraordinaire.

****spoiler alert****

i didn't read lynch's proposed intent in the words of reviewers b/c i wanted to absorb it for myself. in my opinion it was about removing women from bondage; hence the sitcom scenes with the female rabbit constantly ironing.

a curse which dates back to polish gypsies finds its way to a modern screenplay...

blonde actress is an all-encompassing character on the plight through different relationships via hallucination form. while the protagonist is obvious, the antagonist is fuzzy. Is it the actress herself? At times it's the past, the future, time, men, relationships, prostitution, and the streets of l.a. as the plot unfolds, an abused blonde actress is engaged in conversation with the callous world (nonchalant "detective" guy) who eventually leads her to the end of events. throughout the film her character walks through many doorways seeking ethical redemption only to find herself even deeper immersed. in the last scene there is refuge in her hollywood mansion with all female characters being saved back into the original dimension.

In the credits there's a disclaimer stating that all the characters were fictitious. Which normally translates to: at some point someone got upset with Lynch's portrayal of hollywood night walkers (or the actors who use them) and took it personally.

Alas, in Lynch's own words, "it is what it is."

Bunched up scenarios, with no beginning or end, and the viewer is left with all the damages- as with any remarkable work of art.

paris & florida were great. i travel a lot - beyond comprehension. gypsy nomad.

goals this year..

to move away from the city for a few months, maybe longer. and although abe and i have plans to be in jerusalem for the summer, we're pushing for a move to l.a. for a bit.

no i'm not insane. people are moving out of the city in droves. or so it seems. but what made me realize that a change would be good was when a friend of mine dropped everything to take a job with NOAA after nearly a decade on wall street. must say i was completely envious.

to work less. to spend more time with friends. to not read the news so much (won't happen but can try). to spend more time in the country where i can see some stars at night. and to better self-expression through art.

this season i have a small part in matt's new off-broadway production. maybe a future in acting is in order :)

hope you all had a nice holiday.
