new york underground film festival
it's unethical to differentiate between filmmakers and visual artists- we're all artists- but for clarification purposes. i like the shorts. we had time to see one film so i chose The Insignificant Other only because this is so something i would do.. put down a project then continue it 3 decades later. stop by and support burgeoning -and not so- filmmakers.
there's a slew of interesting gallery openings going on in april. it's usually the most entertaining month to attend.
Five or so miles off the appalachian trail, high up on a mountain top and i made a remarkable discovery. Yesterday was 80 degrees here and what better atmosphere to practice my shaolin training than pure unadulterated nature. the lake is situated behind a rocky hill and only the most avid hikers (if i do say so myself) can get past it. i had to use every restraint possible just not to dive in.
wonder if it'll be here in 50 years.
on the way down a group of hikers ask, "how much longer?" "oh, about 4 miles"
hope they made it.
no spring open house
will not be having the open house this spring since my work sold out faster than expected. if you've emailed to see the work, we'll email you back with the last 3 artworks i have. first come first served :) soon available again for public viewing in the fall.
phone is shut- inundated with questions about the gallery so off for now. email questions please. if you have an appointment check the email we sent for an alternate number.
art for real nice folk
we've received such an overwhelming amount of responses to the new gallery endeavor (and some very excellent work) that in a joint effort opening another gallery in the city. we're already contacting artists for these exhibits from portfolios we've received.
emergency room
this was an excellent, uniquely rare exhibit: http://www.ps1.org/ps1_site/content/view/224/102
more emergencies- today we're doing press photos for the gallery. and there is still a ridiculous amount of paper work to be done. i have no time to work on art or get online so don't miss me too much. i'll be back soon.
this was rushed .. did i mention i was busy?
have a lovely weekend!
just a reminder: no more appointments after the next open house until the fall.
i keep forgetting how many people read my blog. it's sort of embarrassing but hey, i can't see you reading it. so carry on.
in the mail i received a letter from the trumps namely ivanka. i must confess i was trembling opening it because of my recent blurbs about their (luckily failing) attempts at building in the soho district. to make matters worse it was addressed to my full name. there it was spelled out all across the envelope. so i open it and breathe a sigh of relief at what appears to be an invitation to one of their functions. gladly, i will be in attendance. nothing personal.
normally an artist blog would contain some art career-related content. and i do receive email asking q's. in the next post i'll dig up some emails and attempt to respond.
cold but sunny afternoon. have a good one!
